Client Need
The client required industry expertise to design and create a cross-platform end-to-end labor workforce management tool. The application needed to organize, schedule, and communicate with contingent, project-based mobile talent and automatically fulfill roles based on the talent’s registration profile.
Product Challenges
A major challenge was designing a database and UI with pre-defined and dynamic event roles, creating corresponding registration and communication templates, and matching talent to those roles. Additional challenges were rate calculations with multiple variables, load balancing, and application performance.
The Xperity Solution
Xperity quickly identified the business requirements to deliver a robust workforce management solution built with the latest technology. The new cloud-based platform and mobile app addresses the unique challenges faced by companies hiring independent workers for short-term engagements. It also streamlines labor workflow by managing on-demand and on-the-go workforce. The app accommodates state-by-state rates, automated customer and talent registration and communications, and crew management details.
How We Did It
Xperity utilized agile and process-driven management along with the following tools to deliver a multi-platform, high-performance workforce management application:
Dynamic Database
Utilized Spring Data JPA to improve the implementation of data access layers by reducing the effort to just the amount needed.
User Interface
An intuitive UI/UX was created using Bootstrap and Thymeleaf to be very responsive on the desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms.
Mobile Development
Native mobile apps were developed for both Android using Android SDK and iPhone using Swift/Xcode.
Cloud Asset Management
Integrated AWS S3 bucket for loading assets like JS, CSS, Images, etc.
